On behalf of the Cary High School NJROTC Board, we welcome you to the CHS NJROTC family.
You and your student are now part of the corps of cadets, and we look forward to your participation and support of the CHS NJROTC unit. The unit has been recognized for the third consecutive year as one of the best Navy JROTC units in the nation. The 2009 Awards included “Navy Distinguished Unit” ninth consecutive year, which is the highest national award an NJROTC unit can achieve. In 2009 the Unit was awarded “Best Unit in Area Six” (all North and South Carolina units) and the Navy League Award for being the third runner- up as “Best Unit in the Nation.”
Over the years, the unit has flourished with an extraordinary group of dedicated parents who have given much of their time, energy and other resources to our NJROTC unit. The CHS NJROTC Booster's Club consists of parents that are dedicated to supporting the unit’s activities by organizing and working many fundraisers, and supporting our cadets as chaperones and cheering sections throughout the year. The Booster Club meets on the second Tuesday of every month at 7:00 pm in the CHS NJROTC classroom. Although the Navy provides for uniforms, textbooks, and training aids for the program, the majority funding for our unit is achieved through our Booster Club fundraising. Your volunteerism and support are vital to the success of your student and the unit.
